About Amanda Roberts
Amanda Roberts has been a contributing writer to The Gourmet Retailer since 2008. A California native, she grew up in the vineyards of Central and Northern California, where she developed a love and appreciation for the industry. Amanda graduated from the University of California, Davis and is a contributing author to numerous publications, including Practical Winery and Vineyard Magazine and phoodies.com. She resides in San Diego.
Drawing upon more than 30 years of experience in journalism, politics and business communications, Bob Gatty writes regularly for trade, business and professional publications, including Progressive Grocer and The Gourmet Retailer. He covers, manufacturing, retailing and distribution in the convenience channel, and writes for publications in the health industry among others. Bob is former publisher and editor-in-chief of Advantage, a previous publication of the Food Marketing Institute, where he was a vice president. He joined FMI after serving as communications VP at Food Distributors International, where he was responsible for Food Distributor magazine. Early in his career, Bob covered state politics for United Press International, then worked for two members of the House of Representatives. Nancy and Gary Krabill left the high-tech world of telecommunications in 2002 and began Flavors From Afar, dedicated to the premise that upscale food need not be intimidating or fussy. Today, their business has grown from home-based to brick-and-morter, along with ecommerce and a travel business on the side. Their blog, Blogfromafar documents their adventures in the kitchen, as well as overseas.
